Building my Blogging Empire, and How you Can Build Yours!

I'm Justin and am starting to make money online with my growing blogging empire, started with one blog -- The No BS Zone: How to Make Money Online and Avoid Scams - in 2009 and now have many including my youtube channel - Youtube Channel - "No BS Zone: Common Sense Advice for Life". I had built it up and forgot about it, and then I started to notice my adsense income starting to increase a little bit each year. It wasn't much, it was about one dollar per month, then 2, then 5, 10, 20, and eventually it was starting to increase dramatically.

I realized, there's something to this and I started blogging more and creating more content. Then in the fall of 2011 from a blog to a youtube video, I posted more content on No BS Zone and it just started to explode. I also created other blogs and through trial and error I found out what worked and what didn't. Now I'm up to over $100 per month and it's increasing from there.

I just want you to know if you want to make money blogging, don't just worry about creating that one amazing post or blog that becomes popular, focus on creating content you're passionate about. Even if it's average content, if you're passionate about it, multiply it.

Also, you want to make sure people are clicking on your adsense and LinkShare.com or Commission Junction affiliate ads. No matter how good your content is if they don't click on it you won't make money. The key is creating content that is interesting, but not so interesting that no one pays any attention to your ads.

I'm up to about $100 per month from my blogs and my and expect to double that again in a month or so, and I'll keep you updated on my progress!

How to Become a Blog Master in 5 Easy Steps

If you're a blogger you probably want to get more readers. Who doesn't want to be an blog master right? It is a dream of many bloggers to sit on their couch and make thousands of dollars every month doing what they love but how does one get there? How do they go from being a blog hobbyist to a blog master?

1. Start small. You must learn the trade before you can earn as a master. It's no different then picking up a hammer and learning how to nail boards together. You must learn what works and what doesn't your own way often through trial and error. Start following successful bloggers and read back when they were just starting on their very first posts. What worked for them? What ideas did they abandon. What did they refine? How did their content evolve? How are they making money blogging? Study the fine intricacies of blog masters and see why they made the decisions they did.

2. Don't copy. You can learn about what they do but absolutely do not copy it. This goes for the content on other blogs but also the techniques. The niche of information and the technique they deliver it that they carved out did not come easy. If you copy the design of their blog, the content, or the search terms you will always fail. The search engines do not like duplicate content and if you copy you will be seen only as that. You simply cannot become an income generating blog master unless you're truly original.

3. Be Passionate. Blogging about topics your passionate about is very important. If you don't you'll lose interest and run out of things to talk about. The balance between what you know a great deal about and what you like to write about is the key. It also must be presented in a different way than anything else out there. If you aren't original in your delivery your content, however good it may be, will get lost in the search engines never to be found again.

4. Take risks! Challenge yourself and push your mind further than you ever thought it could go. It's when you reach mental no man's land that you discover some of the most brilliant blog topics to write about that will be an absolute hit with your readers. Daring blog masters that take great risks usually make a lot of money and experience great rewards. Even if they don't they usually learn a great deal for next time.

5. Be genuine. The difference between a TV news program, a newspaper, a magazine, and a great blog is that all of these mediums are impersonal, except that is for the blog. The modern blog is a very dynamic personal piece of literature. The writer tailors the information in such a way to draw the reader in and connect with them on a personal level. When the blog master does this they create trust. Trust is the missing ingredient that separates the amateur from the professional blog master that makes money doing what they love!

Make Money Blogging - I Do!

Something I haven't mentioned yet, making money blogging is a real and viable way to make some serious extra money. You're not alone though. There is about 50 million blogs currently in existence and about 2 blogs get created each second of every day. So if you're going to try and make any money doing it your content must be unique and RELEVANT.

Don't get me wrong, you can't write about something so obscure that no one cares about it. To get readers and ultimately clicks on your ads you need to get very creative. Think about the things you know a lot about, or are very passionate about, and think of a unique angle on it, or in other words, a blog "niche."

Blog niches are important because if you create a blog about sports cars for instance and your key words are "sport cars," "fast," and "engines" you'll be competing with everyone else with those keywords about a very broad topic. Not a good chance of getting noticed.

Blogging is very dynamic. Like I said it's difficult to get found in the proverbial haystack of the internet. Therefore, you have to diversify your efforts. Creating unique content, appropriate key words, and submitting to search engines is only half the battle. The other challenge is getting search engines to notice your content. To do that you must show them that other people are linking to it, commenting on it, liking it, recommending it, and so on to show your site has value. You do this by creating articles on Ezine.com, posting on valuable high PR Do Follow social network sites like Digg, Technorati, and Slashdot. A useful tool for posting to many of these sites is Socialmarker.com. Another good thing to do is tweet about your blogs and posts on twitter, post videos on youtube, and think of anything else creative you can to promote your blogs.

To monetize your blogs, you could start your own website, that way you can put any ads you like on there. If you have a great idea right off the bat this may be a good idea, but more realistically you want to experiment on a free blogging service to see what works and to post adsense ads on your site right away. I recommend Blogger.com but use one that you prefer.

Work from Home with the NO BS ZONE - Welcome!

Work from home with the No BS Zone! Welcome one and all to my blog. I created this as a service for people that are fed up with get rich quick schemes online. The Internet seems to be absolutely overflowing with these big steaming piles of BS! After tirelessly scouring the Internet for legitimate ways to make money online I've learned a couple things.

I'd like to share the things I've learned with you as a service from one online worker to another. Remember, if you really want to work from home on the Internet some day, I'm here to tell you it is in fact possible. But, and this is a big but, you must be willing to be patient and work extremely hard to achieve this goal. It will not happen overnight.

I haven't reached my goal yet, but I'm well on my way to quitting my day job and working from home full time. I know I'll get there but I also know that it's going to take some time. Any website that tells you it's possible for you to start working from home next week or next month and that you can quit your job right away is lying to you!

They are telling you this because they are taking advantage of your hopes and dreams for what is usually a measly $30-50 for their "success kit." If you know what to look for, you can smell their BS from a mile away. Do not ever let these Internet bottom feeders peddle you their wares to you ever again.

If you have fallen for any of these scams, don't feel stupid. Many people including myself have fallen for these. I'm currently 28 years old, and when I was 15 I saw an infomercial by a person named Don Lapre. Perhaps you've heard of this fool. He was a short man with slicked black hair that looked to be in his late 20s. He was selling a "success kit" for a money making system. The way he described it to work was to place tiny classified ads in newspapers around the country for some BS product or service and magically thousands of dollars would start rolling in before you knew it.

I still laugh to this day thinking about how excited this little man got about his "tiny classified ads" and how he started his business in his small one bedroom apartment and grew it to a large business. Remember, I was 15 so I couldn't order it myself just like the infomercial said. So, I asked my mother to order it for me and I would split the $39.95 cost with her.

My mother has a heart of gold, and she wants nothing more than to make her children happy. Naturally, she helped me purchase it and I was so grateful. I told her, "mom, I'm going to be rich, and I'm going to be able to take care of you when you get older."

I was taken by this man and there must have been many more people like me of all ages that had their dreams taken advantage of. I'm sure Mr. Lapre lined his pockets with the money of suckers for as long as he could until enough people spoke out about his scam. See, that's the way these BS schemes work.

These scam artists peddle their phony "success kits" for as long as they can until people finally speak out enough to put them out of business. Then if they can, many of these phonies start a new scam because they don't know how to make an honest dollar. By the way, do you think this guy is selling his tiny classified ad "business opportunity" anymore. No way, the last I heard he was selling vitamins. He was probably forced to stop what he was doing so he had to do something more legitimate like the selling vitamins.

Have you noticed I've used the words "success kit" a lot? That's because this word is one of the red flags used when describing these so-called "business opportunities." These key phrases should be an indication to you that they are in fact fake and you shouldn't waste your money. Also, while we're on the subject of money, never pay someone to show you how to make money.

This is crazy if you think about it, yet many people every year do exactly that. If it still doesn't make sense to you, try an analogy. Would you fill out an application or turn in a resume somewhere if they asked you to pay just to be considered for the position? Of course you wouldn't, and you shouldn't pay someone to learn their "secrets to wealth creation." There's another one of the keywords in the BS dictionary.

Work from Home - Why Work When You Can Turk with Amazon Mturk

Work from home with Turking on Amazon Mturk! What is Turking? Turking is working as a self employed worker on Amazon's global work marketplace. The service is called Mechanical Turk and is hosted by Amazon.com and was launched in 2005.

Mechanical Turk is based on the idea that there are still many things that humans can do much better than computers, such as identifying objects in a photo or video, transcribing audio recordings, writing articles, researching data details, and many more kinds of tasks.

These tasks are referred to in the Turk world as HITs or Human Intelligence Tasks. These HITs pay anywhere from $0.01 to $25 or more depending on the particular task. In general, the more difficult the task is, the more that it will pay.

I currently use Mechanical Turk regularly, and can average about $40 per day. The time it takes to complete this much work varies, but I would say normally it takes anywhere from 5-8 hours to do this work. Now, you're not going to get rich working on Mechanical Turk. In fact, it's currently hard to make a living solely using this service.

The problem is that the HITs don't pay enough yet. It's possible if Turk gets corporate companies signed on then the amount and pay of the work could dramatically go higher, but this doesn't look like it will happen in the foreseeable future.

All things considered, it's still a useful way to make some extra money on the Internet. The requester a.k.a. your boss take anywhere from a couple hours to several weeks to either approve or deny your work. I have found that if you do quality work you will get about 95% of your work approved and it usually takes at the most a couple days to get paid in most cases.

The best thing about Turk is how the pay works. Other work at home services like doing surveys or other BS scams pay you via a paper check every month, or not at all. Turk transfers the money into your checking account usually within 24 hours from the time that it's approved. Good luck getting that kind of expedited payment service with any other work from home opportunity. The payment is safely transferred to you via Amazon's payment service that is similar to PayPal.

Let's be clear, Amazon Mechanical Turk is far from perfect. I'll be the first one to admit that. However, it does happen to be an extremely easy and convenient way to make some extra money in your spare time in your underwear in front of the computer or even lounging on your couch in front of the TV if you have a laptop.

This one is a keeper. I would even go as far to say that Mechanical Turk could be the future of work as we know it. Work similar to this has even spawned a new catch phrase. It's called "crowdsourcing." Crowdsourcing is defined as the act of taking a task traditionally performed by an employee and outsourcing it to an undefined, generally large group of people or community in the form of an open call.

Other good examples of crowdsourcing include the political action group MoveOn.org and the extremely popular online free dictionary known as Wikipedia. These examples are proof that this phenomenon is not going away any time soon. I encourage you to give Amazon Mechanical Turk a try. This service passes the No BS Zone with flying colors!
